What is Acoustic Wave Therapy?

Acoustic Wave Therapy, also known as “Radial Pressure Wave Therapy,” uses sound waves that generate oscillations in the tissue. This helps reduce muscle pain and activate connective tissue, temporarily aids in the increase of blood flow, helps in the treatment of tendinitis in hips and shoulders, and helps to improve pain in various musculoskeletal conditions. It is non-invasive and is a great alternative to medication.

What does it feel like?

Patients sometimes feel soreness and a thumping sensation when the machine passes over injured tissue. There is very little discomfort when it travels over healthy tissue. The level of discomfort depends on the area being treated, the settings on the device, and the severity of the condition. Minor soreness after the procedure surrounding the involved area is common.

"I met with Dr. Strut and he thought that he could fix it for me. He's been giving me the injections in my ankle, and it no longer buckles. I think three months ago he started, and it's been good ever since, so I'm very, very, very happy."
